Before opening la comunidad in Miami, José worked at Ratto/BBDO (Argentina) from 1992 to 1997 as a writer and Creative Director. Under his lead, Ratto/BBDO won more awards than any other Argentinean agency and was named "Agency of the Year" in 1996.

In 1997, José was invited to take a post as Creative Director at Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Oregon, for Nike International (Canada, Australia and Latin America). His work also encompassed the general U.S.market, U.S. Hispanic and European markets and took him to Europe, where he worked from the Wieden+Kennedy offices in Amsterdam and London.

In 2001 Jose, together with his brother Joaquin, opened la comunidad in Miami and Buenos Aires.

His work has been recognized with awards from Cannes, The One Show, Clio, D&AD, The Art Directors Club, London Festival and FIAP.

Jose has also been a jury member for The One Show, D&AD, London International Festival, Andys, Art Directors Club of NY and Clios. He's also member of the Board of Directors of The One Club. It is the first time in its history that a Hispanic has been given such an honor.
