Trained as a journalist, Carol began her career as a copywriter in Hong Kong. In an 18-year career that has included posting with Hong Kong agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, J Walter Thompson, Ogilvy, McCann Erickson, and now, TBWA Shanghai, Carol has remained focused on building brands – and sales – through effective creative communications.
She has produced numerous acclaimed campaigns for many leading brands like Cathay Pacific, McDonalds, Procter & Gamble, Shell, Standard Chartered Bank and DBS Bank, just name a few. Her works have been cited at Media Spike, Asia Pacific AdFest, Clios, Cannes, and the Gunn Reports. Apart from creative recognitions, Carol also took home two Gold EFFIE awards in a row in 2005 & 2006. The significant difference she made were widely recognized by the trade - Carol was ranked No.1 on ‘Hong Kong & China Creative Rankings’ chart by Campaign Brief Asia in 2004, and was named ‘Creative of the Year – runner up’ in Asia Pacific by Media Magazine in 2005.
Carol joined TBWA\ China Shanghai in 2008, and is now dedicated to building brands for adidas, Nivea, McDonald’s and many more.
Carol also lectured on Advertising Creative and Strategy on the faculty of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2002 to 2007. Currently she is a columnist for a leading financial magazine in Hong Kong - I Money. Her column is named ‘Nothing to do with Advertising’.
