Writer, Poet, Advertising Professional, Songwriter with social conscience- Prasoon Joshi’s forays in these creative fields have found success and resonance. He exemplifies the rare breed of creativity that transcends the boundaries of vocation and carves its own niche in any direction it surges.

As Executive Chairman McCann Erickson India & Regional Executive Creative Director Asia Pacific Prasoon is recognized for bringing about a paradigm shift in the Advertising Industry. Considered the torchbearer of the young breed and the contemporary face of Indian Advertising, he has played an important role in putting India and Asia on the World Advertising stage.

With More than 400 Awards including Lions at Cannes and accolades at other International awards shows, he also has vast experience of judging prestigious award shows like the One show, D&AD, Clio and being the Chairman of Jury at Cannes in 2009.

From the path breaking Coca- Cola campaign to other International brands like Happydent- (rated as the best commercial ever done in India by a publication survey) Cadbury, MasterCard, Nescafe, Microsoft, MetLife to Indian Brands like Dabur, Asian Paints, Britannia, Marico, NDTV his work speaks for itself.

In October 2009, he conferred the National Award by the President of India for his writing contribution towards significant social cause via the feature film medium.

Designated as a YOUNG GLOBAL LEADER by the World Economic Forum, Prasoon believes in utilizing his talent and intent for causes that concern the masses of our country. His campaigns for Pulse Polio, Anti Smoking, and Empowerment of Women, Protecting the girl child, UN Millennium Goals for eradicating poverty, Voter Awareness and Tourism’s ‘Athithi devo bhava’ have impacted the country’s consciousness.

Prasoon’s Indian Feature Films foray like Rang De Basanti, Hum Tum, Taare Zameen Par, and Delhi 6 has met with critical and commercial success garnering acclaim in form of coveted FilmFare and all major Indian Film Industry Awards including a BAFTA nomination and shortlist at Oscars.

As a prolific Poet he has had 3 published books of poetry and prose - first at the age of 17- and a fourth nearing completion.

His columns on Brand and Marketing and social issues in publications like Economic Times and Navbharat Times are well regarded.

He has been invited by the Government of India to be on the Creative Advisory board of the forthcoming Commonwealth Games as well as by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to serve on the committee for the building of Brand India in the field of Cinema.

On the occasion of India’s 60 years of Independence, a leading national publication put Prasoon amongst the Country’s Top 60 icons of the Country for his contribution in several fields that have shaped and impacted the public consciousness.
