Mimi Cook
Apple
Mimi’s first job was in political campaign management. It lasted one year. Realizing there were more fun things to advertise than politicians, Mimi happily took a salary cut and jumped over to Chiat/Day (S.F). She went on to work at several other agencies (F.C.B., Hal Riney & Partners, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners) on some nice brands (Saturn, Banana Republic, Levi’s, Michelob) and was recognized along the way by Cannes, Communication Arts, the Clios, D&AD, the Obie Awards, and The One Show. Ad Age honored her as a “Woman to Watch” and featured her Levi’s work as one of the 50 Best TV Commercials in 50 Years of Advertising.
Mimi now works at Apple, Inc. as a Creative Director/Writer in Motion Graphics, Film, and Video. As a CD there, she’s been fortunate to film and interview unsung geniuses and app developer heros. She has also interviewed IT professionals, giving her a vague understanding of things such as 128-bit AES encryption and 802.1X authentication. Mimi thinks she is the luckiest person on the planet.
