Patricia believes in the power of words and that successful advertising is all about telling unexpected stories. Born in Hamburg to a German linguist and an Indonesian pharmacist, she studied playwriting and acting in the US. By the age of 20, she had directed her own first play at Literalia, an international literature festival in Germany.
Patricia worked as a film editor for major German television stations and graduated in business management from the University of Hamburg. She started her career as a producer at Studio Hamburg, one of the major film companies in Germany. In 1994 she made the switch to advertising and worked at Springer & Jacoby, took over responsibility as Creative Director, and moved on to Grabarz & Partner. Her accounts included Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, and Telekom.
Since 2009 Patricia has been Group Creative Director at kempertrautmann, where she creates global advertising campaigns for Henkel Schwarzkopf, Vaillant, Audi, and Paulaner. kempertrautmann won second place in the TV commercials category at The Big Won 2010. In 2011 the agency brought home 13 Cannes Lions.
Patricia has won more than 200 international awards at the Cannes Advertising Festival, The One Show, D&AD, Epica, the Clio Awards, and the Art Directors Club of Europe, among others. She has been on several international award juries—including the Outdoor Jury in Cannes in 2011—and lectures at the Miami Ad School and at the Texterschmiede in Germany.
