Kwame Kyei-Yamoah, Regional Creative Director, Echo House Africa
Kwame is an award-winning visual artist and creative leader known for transforming ideas into compelling visual stories that connect deeply with audiences. With over a decade of experience in visual communication, art direction, and brand storytelling, he believes in the emotional power of creativity.
Currently serving as Regional Creative Director at Echo House Africa, Kwame leads multidisciplinary teams across South, Central, and West Africa, driving creative strategy and execution for major brands including Johnnie Walker, Rexona, Coca-Cola, MTN Benin, Guinness Ghana, and Unilever. His work is distinguished by its cultural relevance, emotional resonance, and ability to shape conversations across the continent.
Kwame has directed some of Ghana’s most influential creative projects, notably Tidal Rave, Africa’s largest beach festival, where he has reimagined brand experiences through storytelling that blends culture, youth, and entertainment. His role as Creative Director for Shatta Wale’s Reign Album produced one of Ghana’s most iconic music campaigns, celebrated for its fusion of art, identity, and sound. Other notable works include the visual identity for Johnnie Walker AfroExchange, recognized for its cultural depth and bold design language.
A passionate advocate for creative education and mentorship, Kwame spearheads ProjectFIND, an initiative dedicated to discovering and nurturing young creative talent across Africa. Within Echo Academy, the agency’s internal training platform, he facilitates workshops and mentorship programs aimed at equipping the next generation of creatives with practical skills and industry insight.
In 2024, Kwame served as a juror for the Pitcher Awards, honouring creativity and innovation across the African continent. His work continues to earn recognition for its craft and cultural impact.
As an artist, Kwame’s signature pop art style is characterized by bold colours, striking typography, and layered storytelling which reflects his fascination with human emotion and everyday African life. His work captures the rhythm and vibrancy of modern Africa, inviting people to see themselves in his art. Recent exhibitions include: Goodbye Gold Coast (Accra, Berlin), 3 Decades Around the Sun, and Ako Adjei Lit Up.
