Michael Kiruthi is a culture-forward creative director based in Nairobi, with
roots in Mombasa. With over 8 years of experience, Michael has steered
MB96 to 7x Digital Media Awards East Africa wins, including multiple
accolades for branding and advertising. He has worked with leading
brands such as Vault22, Africa Wildlife Foundation, SC Ventures, Google
Africa, and Diageo, delivering campaigns that resonate across Africa.
Michael’s expertise spans brand development for startups and scale-ups,
integrated advertising campaigns, and creating seamless user
experiences for both web and mobile platforms.
A finalist at the Loeries and a judge at The Loeries, Pitcher Awards and the
inaugural Cannes Young Lions Kenya competition, Michael is passionate
about the intersection of creativity and culture.
Outside his work at MB96, he serves on the Digital Marketing Awards East
Africa committee and enjoys cars, coffee, and exploring the cultural
nuances that shape African identities
