Angela Mears, Chief Creative Officer, New York Weber Shandwick

An 11-year Weber Shandwick veteran, Angela is obsessed with building truly diverse, collaborative teams across borders and specialties that better serve the complex needs of modern clients. A digital nomad since 2017, Angela has led creative work for the agency across the West Coast, Chicago, Europe, and now New York.

Most of Angela’s client work dwells in the intersections between consumer behavior, technology, sustainability, and health. She spearheads creative for clients across industries — including Airbnb, McDonald’s, IKEA, Unilever, Haleon, IBM, ABInBev, and Sony. Angela is an active member of the agency’s diversity and inclusion leadership team, and helms a divergent group of thinkers, writers, artists, producers, and dreamers.

Angela’s work has been recognized by Cannes Lions, Eurobest, Clios, the One Show, the Webby’s, Ad Age, Adweek, the Shorty awards, the PRWeek awards, and the SABRE awards. She was recently named to Campaign’s 2022 Female Frontiers list, which celebrates female leaders breaking boundaries across creativity, media, technology, and communications. She and her partner Margaux Pepper won the Cannes Young Lions PR competition for North America in 2015.

Angela started her career in entertainment, working as a P.A. on The Simpsons and in development for feature films at New Line Cinema. Her work outside of work has been published in Mindful, Saveur, and The North American Review.
