Thomas Zhu Group Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy Shanghai

Thomas is Group Executive Creative Director of Ogilvy Shanghai. In this role, he is responsible for Ogilvy Shanghai’s creative work, which includes leading creative teams to provide innovative and efficient solutions to different clients, and using creativity to help clients meet business needs and get brands and Ogilvy itself strong impact on both local and global markets.

Thomas is one of the few local creative leaders who has grown within 4A agencies. He joined Ogilvy Shanghai in 2011. Prior to his work at Ogilvy, he was Creative Director of JWT and Group Creative Director of LOWE. Throughout his over a 25-year creative career in 4A agencies, he has served a wide range of brands from different industries, including FMCG, automobile, fashion, sports, home appliances, internet, technology etc. He is skilled at finding unique and creative breakthrough points from social culture and perception of human nature. In his spare time, he was a columnist for a fashion magazine for one year.

Thomas has landed many international awards including D&AD, THE ONE SHOW, CANNES, CLIO, ADFEST etc. He is also widely awarded in regional award shows including Hongkong 4A, Longxi, Times Awards, China Advertising Festival etc. He serves as a judge for China 4A, ONE SHOW CHINA, EFFIE AWARDS etc..
